About Kelsey Martinez

Celebrating the Life of Kelsey Lynn Martinez

May 1, 2000 – February 3, 2018

Kelsey Martinez was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, teammate, and friend.  She was beautiful, confident, feisty, and loved to have fun.  Her big, spunky personality and infectious laugh often entered a room before she did!  Throughout most of her life she played softball (along with other sports), and always exhibited so much competitive spirit, determination, and grit.  She was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and wore her Giants attire with pride.  Kelsey had an incredibly positive outlook, so much so that she had the motto “Today Will Be Great” or “TWBG”.  She lived every day to its fullest and her zest for life was contagious. She was always there to brighten the lives of others.

There is no doubt that if everyone lived life with the same outlook Kelsey had, this world would be a better place.

Kelsey had a soft spot for animals and aspired to be a marine biologist.  During her junior year at Freedom High School, she made the decision to sacrifice the sports that she loved so much in order to focus on her academics so that she could reach her goals.  Unfortunately, at the age of 17, Kelsey was involved in an ATV accident and passed away.  The Today Will Be Great Foundation was formed in her name with the purpose of helping others, spreading her positivity, and to keep Kelsey’s light shining bright forever.
